Nathan Duane Cole

Feb. 5, 1979 - Feb. 15, 2021

GRANGER, IN -

Nathan Duane Cole, 42, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 15, 2021. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on February 5, 1979 to David John and Susan Dee (Brinks) Cole.

Nathan is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Sarah Elizabeth (DeBeck); their daughter, Lydia Janene Cole; parents, David and Susan; brothers, Phillip and Sara, Gregg and Bridget, Benjamin, and Seth Cole; mother and father in-law, James and Melagna DeBeck; brother-in-law, Evan DeBeck; grandparents, Duane and Dorothy Brinks; grandfather, Adrian Cole; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Nathan taught junior high science at St Joseph Grade School. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Math Education with a Physics minor. Nathan was a member of HASTI (Hoosier Assoc. of Science Teachers Inc.) and NASTI (National Assoc. of Science Teachers Inc.). He was also the coach of the Lego robotics team and lead teams to victory at the state level.

Nathan enjoyed reading, working on his 3D printer, and playing golf with his father and brothers.

Nathan especially loved being a dad to his daughter Lydia. They would cook and bake dinner together most evenings.

Nathan was a regular attender and had been a small group leader at St. Mark Missionary Church where he attended with his family. He will be dearly missed by so many.

A visitation will be held at St. Mark Missionary Church on Friday, February 19, 2021. Due to Covid-19, the services for Nathan will be private. The family wishes all could attend. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Osceola, IN.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Mark Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.

So sad to hear about Nate's passing. We grew up together and he was an amazing guy. I actually used to be his boss when we were teenagers and always laughed about that. The family has my sympathy and prayers.

So very shocked to hear of Mr. Cole's passing. We all liked him so much as a teacher and appreciated the time and effort he put into helping the kids with the LEGO Club. Words cannot express how very sorry we are for your loss. Please know that he will be watching over all of you from heaven. With great sympathy and love, The Blacketor Family
