SOUTH BEND - Nicholas Andrew Snyder, 28, passed away on July 4, 2018. Nicholas was born January 14, 1990 in South Bend, to Julie Monroe and Richard Snyder. He attended Washington High School in South Bend and graduated from Elkhart Central in 2008. He was employed by The Purple Porch and Chicory Cafe. He is survived by his son, Elijah Grayson Snyder; his mother, Julie Wable; stepfather, Adam Wable; brother, Addison Wable; father, Richard Snyder and stepmother, Tammy Snyder; brother, Ty Geislemen; nephew, Tylan Geislemen and niece, Lucy Geislemen; grandparents, Ron and Jackie Snyder of Indianapolis, IN; and grandmother, Leah Monroe of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Monroe; grandmother, Karrol Snyder; and great-grandparents, Bill and Rosemary Bare, and Meredith and Ralph Snyder. Nicholas was blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends who will remember him fondly. Nicholas also blessed many lives with his joyful heart and smile. Nicholas was a devoted father and a loving son who loved with his whole heart. He loved all people and constantly sought to surround himself with his family and friends. He could relate to and converse with any human being in his presence. He was a uniter, a free spirit, a music lover, a foodie, and young at heart. Through both his happiest moments and saddest moments, he always took care to put a smile on his face and joke and laugh with all who he made contact with. Nicholas was an adventurous young man who loved nature and to cook. He was a very family-oriented young man. Through honoring his memory for his family and friends whom he loved so much, we ask please that you do a random act of kindness in his name. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I didn't know Nick long, but I had always felt he was a man who knew many things and had been to many places. I enjoyed hearing him go on about his adventures while we worked a busy night together. I empathized the nights he told me about being a father, how exhausting but fun it was. It was so shocking; seeing him not even two days ago with a smile on his face before hearing the news. I felt he was a person that meant something to someone, and for that I am sorry for your loss.

A smile and laugh could that would light up the room! So much love seen while you played with your son, it truly showed you had a tender child's soul yourself. Now you can always watch over us.

One of they most sweetest young man I ever met. Nick was in marching band when I was band mom and I loved him from the moment we met. Years later when I met up with Nick after I lost my son, Nick gave me such a big hug. Nick will always remain in my heart as a sweet and gentle soul. My deepest sympathy to Nicks family.
