SOUTH BEND, IN - Mr. Rolland Wendell Smith, 70, of East Monroe Street, South Bend, IN, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN.
Rolland was born to Wilbert Brown and Hazel Smith on July 2, 1948 in Marion, Arkansas. He married Carmen Jennings on June 18, 1988. His passions were fishing, walking, reading books, music, watching crime movies, doing yard work, and being around the family.
Rolland joins his son, Brian Hereford.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carmen Smith of South Bend, IN; his daughters, Kea (Michael) Bennett and Nakema (Curtis) Jackson both of Niles, MI; four sons, Delaino Calhoun and Lorenzo Lottie both of South Bend, IN, Tito Jennings and Keith (Amber) Jennings both of Benton Harbor, MI; his mother, Hazel Hudson, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Rodney Allen along with other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at Alford's Mortuary on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., with viewing from Noon to 1:00 p.m., at Alford's Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alford's Mortuary on behalf of Rolland W. Smith.

Rolland what a pleasure it was to meet you although our friendship was short lived. I do wish it had been longer. You lifted my spirits when ever you came around with your funny ways and stories of plenty. I miss you. My condolences to your entire family, they will always be in my prayers.
