STURGIS - Ruth Diane Moshier, 64, of 207 Michigan Avenue, Sturgis, died Friday, April 4, in her residence. She was born on March 11, 1944, in Plainsville, OH, to Robert D. and Lucille E. (Fussner) Hollingsworth. She attended Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, and graduated from Kent State University. She also attended Glen Oaks Community College and edited their literary magazine. She had lived in Willoughby, Canton, Delaware and Lima, Ohio, and Niles, Michigan, before coming to Sturgis in April 1974. She was co-owner of Aqua Clear Inc. of Sturgis, was a free-lance writer for the Sturgis Journal, had been a third grade teacher at Ostrander School in Ostrander, Ohio, and had also been a social worker in Canton, Ohio, LaGrange, Indiana, and St. Joseph Co., Michigan, having been employed by Thurston Woods Village and the Fairview Medical Care Facility. She was a member of the Sturgis Newcomers Club and started the Arts and Crafts Fair for the club in 1976. She was a den mother and girl scout leader and past co-service unit chairman for Singing Sands Council. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Sturgis Garden Club, member of Congress Parents Organization and co-founder of Congress Crier, volunteer at the junior high library, advisory board for Sturgis Home Health Care, enjoyed playing bridge, church choir, writing, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and going out to eat. On September 3, 1966, in Pepper Pike, Ohio, she married James Moshier, who survives. Also surviving are her father, Robert D. Hollingsworth; a son, John (Jennifer) Moshier of Shaker Heights, OH; daughters, Sara (Jonathan) Clark of Paris, MI, and Anne (Jeremy) Howard of Scotts, MI; and brothers, R. Donald Hollingsworth, Georgia R. Dean (Madelyn) Hollingsworth and R. Dale (Kathleen) Hollingsworth, all of Willoughby, OH, and Richard R. Hollingsworth of Gainesville, OH. She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in First United Methodist Church, Sturgis.
