Scott Henry Reid

CHAMPAIGN, IL - Scott Henry Reid, 69, of Champaign, IL passed away Friday evening (March 11, 2016) at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Scott was born April 25, 1946 in Niles, Michigan, the son of Wallace and Anna Mae (Hancock) Reid.

He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Industrial/Labor Relations and was a member of Lambda Chi fraternity. He worked for Barnes Group for 35 years and retired in 2010.

He married Janice Blacker September 4, 1976 in Champaign. He is survived by his wife of Champaign and three daughters, Kate (Dan) Glynn of Arlington Heights, Carrie Reid of Chicago and Kelly Reid (fiancé Cody Rust) of Normal, IL; and three grandchildren, Coira, Kaylee and Declan Glynn. He is also survived by one brother, Gary Reid of Niles, MI, one sister, Debbie (Ralph) Gates of Hickory, NC, sisters-in-law, Shirley Drazewski, Sandy Spencer and Martha Willi along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Scott was involved in his daughters' lives as softball coach with Champaign Park District and actively served on the Champaign Centennial Band Booster Board. He enjoyed time with his family and friends. A kind and loving man, he will be missed for his sense of humor, humble heart and unwavering optimism.

Funeral service will begin on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:00 pm at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy, IL with a visitation beforehand from 4:00-6:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
