Sharon Lewis Obituary
June 18, 1947 - Apr. 27, 2016
SOUTH BEND - 1st Lady Sharon Kaye (Winston) Lewis, age 68, of Roycroft Drive, South Bend, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN.
Sharon was born June 18, 1947, in South Bend, IN, to Napoleon and Cozzie Mae (Dunlap) Winston both of whom preceded her in death along with two brothers, Milton and Sterling Winston, a granddaughter, Mercedes Lewis, a nephew, Jason Winston, and a niece, Natalie Ellis. She was united in holy matrimony to Prentis Lewis on April 30, 1966. She worked 42 years with Bendix Corporation retiring in 2008. She was the 1st Lady of Charity Temple Church of God in Christ. Her passions included singing, shopping and spending time with her family.
Survivors left to cherish her loving memory include her husband, Pastor Prentis Lewis, her daughter, Cassandra Lewis, two sons, Daryl (Jeromy) Lewis and Jovan (Barbara) Lewis, a stepdaughter, Terriel (Robert) Lewis, a stepson, Terrance (Lynda) Lewis, five grandchildren, one great -grandchild, six brothers, Richard (Murdell) Winston, Dr. Reed (Debbie) Winston, Thomas (Paulette) Winston, John Winston, Raymond (Janice) Winston and Glenn (Nicole) Winston; two sisters, Ruth Winston and Linda (Cecil) Young, a special friend, 1st Lady Ivy Butler along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Viewing will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ.

Although you were my cousin I would call you Aunt Sharon..I never seen you as a cousin and that just didn't fit well with me. I felt like I was being disrespectful if I called you by your first name as cousins would do...that's how much respect I had for you and you deserved and earned every bit of it!!!
