DOWAGIAC - Sharon L. Ormiston, 56, began life on January 5, 1954, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Clarence Lawson Sr. and Patricia (Dandurand) Lawson. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clyde Ormiston, on December 11, 1987, in Cassopolis. She was employed by James Heddon and Sons, Burger King and Nylon Extruders. Sharon loved her eight birds and her dog, Daisy. She enjoyed being with Clyde, going to eat at Wahoo's, and spending time with their friends. Sharon loved children and babies. She loved to crochet and quilt, and would give her quilts to friends. Sharon loved to bake birthday cakes for her family, as well as cupcakes and cookies. Her loving family includes her husband, Clyde Ormiston of Dowagiac; sisters, Laura (David) Mroczek of Dowagiac, Patricia Dazell of Marcellus and Linda (Robert) VanWert of Middleton, OH; brothers, Tim (Bonnie) Lawson of Dowagiac, Kenneth Lawson of Cassopolis and Clarence Lawson Jr. of Columbia City, IN; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Sharon passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010, in Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Jason Kroepel; and a great-niece, Makenzie Brown. Her family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m., led by Pastor Justin Shepard of the Michiana Church of Christ. She will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles. Memorial contributions in Sharon's name may be made to Clyde Ormiston.
