MISHAWAKA - Todd Richard Kucela, age 51, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 2:08 pm Saturday, June 2, 2018 in his home. Todd was born on May 26, 1967 in Elkhart, Indiana to Richard J. Kucela, Jr. and Karolyn “Lynn” Wagner Kucela.

Todd worked at Bayer, better known as Miles, for almost 17 years and then at Forest River for 5 years. Todd refereed IHSAA Football as well as Jr. High and rocket football games. He refereed Fantasy Football Camp during the time that the program was active. Todd enjoyed golfing, anything Harley Davidson, gardening, grilling, cooking, and baking. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame, the Miami Dolphins, and the Toronto Blue Jays. He would do anything for anyone at any time. Todd had a heart of gold. His children were his life.

Todd is survived by his son, Jonathan Kucela of Granger; daughters, Anneliese Kucela and Gabrielle Kucela both of South Bend; his mother, Lynn (George Perry) Kucela of Mishawaka; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Cheri Kucela of South Bend; grandmothers, Maxine Wagner of Cape Coral, FL and Freda Kucela of Elkhart; niece and nephew, Emma and Cameron Kucela; his fiancee, Jennifer Peterson; and several aunts and uncles. Todd was preceded in death by his father on June 8, 2011.

Funeral Services for Todd will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN. Rev. Dave Schrader will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 pm Friday and also from 10-11 am on Saturday prior to services.

Contributions in memory of Todd may be made to the family for the children's education fund or to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

So sorry to see this, was just looking thru our picture albums and had a picture of Todd when he was over to the house vistiting our son David in their high school days. He was always a sweet kid. He even dated our niece, Rachelle for awhile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Kucela family.
