Feb. 5, 1938 - Dec. 9, 2020

MISHAWAKA, IN -

William “Bill” Gabele, 82, of Phoenix, AZ passed away after a lengthy illness on December 9, 2020. Bill was born February 5, 1938 in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Leo and Ethel (Nitch) Gabele, and brother to the late Jeanne (Robert) Bastock.

Surviving is his wife, Kate McCahill of Phoenix, AZ, daughters, Cathi (Richard) Green and Linda (John) Barrett; sons, Michael (Lisa) Gabele and Mark Gabele, and stepson, Daryck Jeffries; grandsons, Robert (Dana) O'Neill, Sean O'Neill, Michael Nowicki, Andrew Barrett, Timothy Barrett, Adam Gabele, Luke Gabele, Tyler Gabele, and Samuel Gabele; granddaughter, Hannah Gabele, and great-grandson, Indiana Barrett. Preceding him in death was his grandson, Matthew Barrett. Also left to remember Bill is his extended family of McCahills, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the U.S.C.G.C. Mackinaw, and in the U.S. Naval Construction Seabees - always great stories. He was a small business owner of HE Electronics and AES Electronics in the South Bend/Mishawaka area for many years.

There will be no viewing or services. Bill's request was to have his ashes become a part of the Superstition Mountains in Arizona, a place he loved at first sight for its strength, peace and beauty. Memorial contributions would be appreciated in his memory to the Best Friends Sanctuary, Angel Canyon, Kanab, UT. www.bestfriends.org
