So long old friend we will miss you as we missed our old buddy Dennis Charles. I remember the time when we visited you to show the old movie projector. We had geat times at WSBT-TV trying to get those stories. You and I and many others our age are the last of the real beat reporters who told the truth and never editorialized the news story only the facts were presented. We truly are the last of the real reporters. And that's the way it is.

Bill's persistence and coverage of the South Shore Commuter Railroads' near demise in the late 1970's can be directly attributed to its' existence today as NICTD. Among his many accomplishments in journalism, Bill's reporting helped bring the issue to the forefront of the Indiana Legislature who created what we now know as NICTD and still fondly refer to as the South Shore Line. Godspeed Bill. Mark Catanzarite, St. Joseph County Council and NICTD Board member

Mike and Leah Bezin and the entire West End Jazz are saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He was a great supporter of the band and was instrumental in making our ten years of Bix flavored jazz concert excursions from Chicago to the Blue Lantern at Hudson Lake on the South Shore a success. He contributed so much of his knowledge about the railroad, the music and the area to the mix. He could always be found on the dance floor with his granddaughter. He was a fine and generous gentleman. They don't make many like him anymore. It was an honor to know him. Requiescat in pace, dear Bill.

Bill Warrick brought the news to us regularly on WSBT for many, many years. And one of the biggest railfans in the nation ! I got to meet him once at the old westside South Shore Railroad station and chat for a few minutes, in the pre-NICTD days ! What a pleasant person to talk to. Rest in Peace, Mr. Warrick.
