William Wensits Obituary

Feb. 18, 1928 - May 4, 2007
SOUTH BEND - Son of Joseph and Mary Wensits. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Paul, whom he married on September 10, 1949, at St. Matthews Church in South Bend IN. He has a son, Chuck (Debbie) Wensits of Texarkana TX; and a daughter, Sue (Craig) Steele of Denver CO. He has a grandson, Billy, and granddaughter, Mandy (TJ) Morrow of Texarkana TX; and two granddaughters, Chelsea and Shannon Steele of Denver. He is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Cutner of South Bend and Anne Fuzey of Texarkana AR; and brothers-in-law, Frank Tonk and Emil Firtl; and sisters-in-law, JoAnne Wensits and Lorraine Wensits of South Bend. He has many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph M. and Edward; and sisters, Julia Wensits, Sal Tonk, Mary "Mats" Vlahantonis, Louise Firtl and Rose Kovall. Bill attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated from Riley High School in 1946. He entered the Army after that and served two years, some of that time in the Philippines. After 34 years at the Post Office in South Bend, he retired and moved to Bear Lake MI. (and became a snowbird to Fort Myers FL where he passed away). He will be missed very much by his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice House, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.

Dear Betty,
My heart felt sympathy is with you. I know how hard it was on Mom when Dad passed. My prayers will be with you. Tommy will be able to be at the furneral home tomorrow night late but I am unfortunatly out of town and won't be back in till Friday afternoon. Just know my thoughts and prayers are with you and Chuck and the rest of the family.
