Betty Lunsford Obituary

BETTY LUNSFORD

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mrs. Betty Joyce Lunsford, 81, of Chapmanville, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Trinity Healthcare at Logan, W.Va.

She was born May 27, 1935, at Logan, W.Va., a daughter of the late Okey Justice and Nola Drake Justice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lunsford, and sister, Alice Morris.

Mrs. Lunsford was a secretary at Chapmanville High School for 17 years, and State Farm Insurance, and PRIDE Community Services for several years. She loved and cherished her time spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of her animals.

Survivors include her sons: Frank (Jackie) Lunsford of Conyers, Ga., and Mike (Gina) Lunsford of Chapmanville; grandchildren: Nichole (Kraig) Howell, Brian (Sarah) Lunsford, Jeffrey Lunsford, Alex Chapman, and Ben Chapman; great-grandchildren: Selah Lunsford and Kora Liese Howell; brother, Stanley Justice; sister, Sylvia Vance; her dog, Max; several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Greg Dalton and Mike Pollard officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum at Pecks Mill, W.Va.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, August 5, at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a very special thanks to all the staff at Trinity Healthcare for all the loving and compassionate care their mother received.

I worked with Betty at Chapmanville High and after graduation, we rode together when we worked at Logan. She was a great lady, always a barrel of fun to be with. My condolences to the family. Betty (Workman) Baisden. Class of 65.
