Emma Withrow Obituary
Emma Lou (Bolen) Withrow, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, September 1, 2013 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston, following a long illness, with her family by her side.
She was born in Covel, WV on October 8, 1934 and lived in Wyoming County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Eriie Bolen and Bessie Green Bolen of Basin, WV.
Lou was a retired insurance associate and agent for Wyoming Insurance Agency in Pineville. She was a founding member of the Pineville Southern Baptist Church where she faithfully taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was a member of the church's women's group, as well as a volunteer for various church functions. She also loved attending the community women's prayer group.
Mrs. Withrow was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, a son, Allen Withrow and her husband Ross L. Withrow who was the love of her life.
Survivors include her children, Debbie Bowling and her husband, Donnie, of Pineville, and David Withrow and his wife, Julie, of Ludlow, IL.Also included are three grandchildren; Brett Bowling of Pineville, Katie Withrow, and Jeff Withrow and his wife Lissy of IL.
Lou loved people, life, and serving the Lord. She was a loving, caring mother who raised her children in a Christian home. She will forever be remembered for her dedication to family and God, and for her beautiful smile. We grieve because she is no longer with us, but rejoice in knowing she is no longer suffering and is reunited with her precious husband, both are walking with the Lord.
A celebration of Lou's life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Pineville Southern Baptist Church, Pineville, with Rev. Dewight Stafford officiating
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 at the church
Entombment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the WMU mission group at her church.
