Dennis J. Westfield Quinton, N.J. Dennis J. Westfield, age 73 of Quinton, died peacefully at home on Friday evening, July 27, 2018. Born in Salem, son of the late George R. & Miriam L. (Vincent) Westfield, Dennis was a 1964 graduate of Salem High School. He was a US Navy veteran during the Vietnam War, serving from 1964 to 1968. After his military service, he worked as a mailman for 20 years at DuPont Chambers Works, retiring in 1992. Dennis was a member of the Quinton Baptist Church, Quinton Fire Company, Quinton Sportsmen's Club, and the Obissquasoit Bowmen. He was an avid football fan, especially of the Philadelphia Eagles, and he enjoyed roller skating, riding horses, and telling jokes. He especially loved his family and being with them. Dennis is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Beverly (nee Sims) Westfield; his daughter, Shannon Westfield and her fiance, Gerald W. Treece, Jr.; his daughter, Kristen Westfield; his granddaughters, Burgandy Wilson (& David) and Brianna Westfield; his great-granddaughter, Emilia Wilson; his sisters, Cheryl Bennett (& Vernon), Robin Rhea-Kydd, Kimberly Brown, and Jimmilyn Matthews (& Charles); and his sister-in-law, Joan Westfield. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Loren "Sonny" Westfield, Sr. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 1st in the Salem County War Veterans Cemetery, Rt. 45, Pilesgrove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Quinton Sportsmen's Club, 346 Jericho Rd., Salem, NJ, 08079, or to the Obissquasoit Bowmen, PO Box 302, Alloway, NJ, 08001.
