Barbara A. Sullivan

Barbara A. (Wills) Sullivan, age 81, of East Bridgewater died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Francis X. Sullivan for 61 years. Barbara was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Chester and Mary (Phelan) Wills, and had resided in East Bridgewater for the past 41 years. A 1954 graduate of Brockton High School, Barbara had worked for many years as a bookkeeper, retiring as manager of the cash office at Walmart. Previously, she also worked for Brophy & Phillips Construction and Dr. William Work. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed genealogy research, reading and crocheting. She will be fondly remembered selling apples, picked from the orchard, in front of the family farm. She especially loved spending time with her family and sharing stories with her grandchildren. Barbara was the mother of Marybeth Barry and her husband Robert "Buddy" of Carver, Barbara Hughes and her husband Paul of Brockton, Francis Sullivan Jr. and his wife Cheryl of East Bridgewater and Daniel Sullivan and his wife Lisa of East Bridgewater. She leaves 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Robert Wills of Brockton and the late Mary Sellars and Marilyn Russell. Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, on Friday 3-7 p.m. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. for a funeral Mass at St. John Church, East Bridgewater, at 11 a.m. Burial in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
