Dorothy Bourne Obituary

Dorothy L. (Loud) Bourne, age 91, of South Easton, died Nov. 13, 2012, at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Basil L. Bourne. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Herman H. and Florence (Smith) Loud. Dorothy and her late husband founded, developed and operated Bourne Transportation in Brockton for many years. After her retirement in 1987, she enjoyed winters in Florida and summers on Cape Cod. Dorothy enjoyed bowling and had been on a local bowling league in her earlier years. She also enjoyed playing cards with family, time with family and close friends, taking long rides, and was an avid shopper. Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert L. Bourne and his wife Maureen of Naples, Fla., Nancy A. Kovatis and her husband William of West Bridgewater and Calvin F. Bourne and his wife Deborah of Easton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Mackin of Brockton. She was the sister of the late Stuart and Donald Loud, Louise Williams, Arlene Graham and Hazel Morse. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Friday 3-8 p.m. A funeral home service will be held Saturday at a time to be announced.
