James S. Chapman

James S. Chapman, age 82, of Brockton, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at his home after a lengthy illness. Jim had worked in the city shoe industry and spent many years at Knapp Shoe and Foot Joy, retiring in 2008. Jim enjoyed gardening and wood working and was an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and loved ones. He will be remembered as a man who was generous to the point that he would give you his last dollar. Jim is survived by his five children, Bonnie Gagne and her husband Brian of Brockton, James Chapman of Brockton, Michael Chapman and his fiancee Audra Peterson of Lakeville, Ronald Chapman and his wife Linda of Middleboro and Joseph Chapman of Brockton. He was the brother of Russell Chapman of N. Easton, Wayne Chapman of Halifax and Shirley Ackerblom of Bourne, and the late Joyce Murphy of Florida and Paul Chapman of Texas. He also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, on Monday 5-7 p.m. followed by a funeral service.
