James L. Corbett Jr.

1949 - 2018

James L. Corbett Jr., 68, of Martinsburg, W.Va., formerly of Middleboro, Mass., passed away from complications related to congestive heart failure on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born November 26, 1949, in Brockton, Mass., son of the late James Lester Corbett Sr. and Theresa May Gummow Corbett. Jim was a dairy farmer and was most recently employed at Lolans Dairy Farm in Middleboro for the majority of the past 20 years. He attended Crossroads Church in Shepherdstown, W.Va., for the past year but prior to moving to West Virginia he attended Central Congregational Church in Middleboro. Jim had a love for dairy farming and farm equipment. Growing up he was involved in 4-H raising and showing South Down sheep and Hereford beef cattle. He attended Norfolk Agricultural High School in Walpole, Mass., where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America graduating in 1968. He is survived by his wife, Laura M. Kujanpaa Corbett; two sons, Jeremy W. Corbett and his wife Natalia of Covington, La., and Benjamin J. Corbett and his wife Jodi of Shepherdstown; one daughter, Angela J. (Corbett) Rodriguez of Rockford, Ill.; five granddaughters, Kaylee L. Corbett, Karis A. Corbett, Aaliyah M. Corbett, Bre'Bella R. Rodriguez, and Kabreigha D. J. Goracio; four grandsons, Andrew J. Corbett, Kazhmere J. Rodriguez, Reece D. Corbett, and Ryan B. Corbett; sister, Joyce E. (Corbett) Perkins and husband David of Watertown, Conn.; brother, William S. Corbett of Martinsburg. A celebration of life service will be held at Central Congregational Church, located at 2 Webster Street, Middleboro, on August 1, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
