Janice E. Lawrence

1954 - 2016

Janice E. Lawrence passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1, 2016 at home after a brief illness. Janice was born in Weymouth, on January 7, 1954, daughter of the late George F. and Marjorie E. (Smith) Glidden. Janice enjoyed her many years of service as a psychiatric nurse at Brockton Hospital, gardening and horseback riding. She especially enjoyed writing short stories and poetry as she was a published writer. Janice was an accomplished musician as she played piano, clarinet and guitar. Janice also enjoyed cooking with her family. In 1971 Janice married her high school sweetheart James G. Lawrence. They lived in Bridgewater where they raised their family of four children: James G. Lawrence, Jennifer L. Lawrence, Jillian L. Smith and Justin J. Lawrence. Janice is also survived by a brother George H. Glidden, her grandchildren Jenevieve G. Leclair, Willow A. Smith and Patrick A. Lawrence. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. The family wishes to invite all to services consisting of visiting hours on Tuesday, March 8, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater and concluding with a Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Burial to follow in Center Cemetery, Wareham.
