Joseph Cadigan Obituary

Joseph D. Cadigan, age 82, of Mashpee, passed away June 10, He was a devoted and loving husband to Elizabeth T. (Alibrandi) Cadigan. Joseph grew up in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Bentley College. Prior to retirement, he was a vice president at Bank of Boston. He also served in the U.S. Navy. Joseph, also known as Father Joe, enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved the ocean, a good horse race and a winning hand in Texas Holdem. Family and friends were what was most important to him and they all shared wonderful memories of his 50 glorious years with Betty and the many trips they all took together sharing in their love. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him. He was a remarkable father to Laura Siracusa and her husband Antonio of Bridgewater and Ivan Cadigan and his wife Michele Cadigan of North Dartmouth; cherished grandfather, Papa Joe, to his two dear grandchildren, Christan and Anthony Siracusa, whom he adored. Also uncle to many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and colleagues. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, Monday, June 14, at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ the King Church, Mashpee Commons, Mashpee, at 11 a.m., followed by a burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation will be held Sunday, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
