Josephine (Hansen) Simmons of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Canton, Stoughton and Quincy, Mass., died on July 19, 2017,after a brave battle with cancer. Josephine was born in Boston, May 24, 1945, to the late John C. Hansen and Claudia (Kodad) Hansen. She is survived by her husband, James Simmons of Las Vegas. Josephine also left behind her children, Joanne and Nick Marchionda of Norwood, Mass., James and Lisa Simmons of California, John and Sherrin Simmons of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Devon, Claudia and Nicholas Marchionda, Jesse and Tamarae Simmons, Brittany, Cory, Marco, Christopher Simmons; and her great-granddaughter, Shea. Josephine is also survived by her loving siblings, Nancy and Phil Mara of Cataumet, Mass., Mary Lou Bogni of Norwell, Mass., Chris and Josefina Hansen of Florida and Carol and Bill Bates of West Bridgewater, Mass.; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Curley, niece, Janice Mara Cardin, nephews, Phillip Mara and Robert Curley, brother-in-law Dr Joseph Bogni, and her grandson, baby James Simmons. There will be a memorial Mass Saturday, August 12, 2017, 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Parish, 103 N. Main St., West Bridgewater, Mass.

Josephine was a beautiful person inside and out! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim, Joanne, Jimmy and Jon and all other family members that God gives them the strength to get through her passing. We have lots of good memories we shared and will always remember. She is in a better place and is at peace. RIP Josphine. Gone way too soon.
