I first met Michael in early 2004 when we worked on the same team at STM Power. It didn't take long for me to realize how helpful and smart Michael was, as I started to use him daily to help me understand this business. I learned a lot for Michael in the 1.5 years that we worked together, he was a wealth of knowledge and we enjoyed each other's conversation.
I left the company in December 2006 and spoke with Michael two times after that, when I needed to learn more. He was right there and friendly as always.
I don't know who reads comments like this, but if you never knew Michael you really missed something. As I have never met anyone quite like him. Last week I tried to get in touch with Michael, as I had some new questions come up about digesters. I knew I could count on him to know what I was looking for. When I sent him an email, it bounced. I sent another email to a friend we had in common, David Miklosi, who told me of Michael's death in 2015. I had to leave the meeting that I was in to try and calm my emotions from the loss of him. He was a good guy, why was he gone at 45 years old? Way too early.

I am so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine what your going through. Mike was such a good man, provider and family man and was an inspiration to many. I wish I could have made it but I'm in the hospital. But I wanted to send my love and prayers
