Miriam Stone

Miriam Stone Brockton Miriam "Mimi" (Stillerman) Stone, age 85, lifelong resident of Brockton, entered into rest Nov. 19, 2007. Mimi, as she was known, was the heart and soul of a loving family, who cherishes her memory. She is survived by her daughters, Emily Goldsmith and her husband David of Keene, N.H., Janice Goldstein and her husband Gary of Andover; grandchildren, Jennifer Rote, Daniel and his wife Ya Ya Rote, Matthew, Abbey and Laura Goldstein. Born in Stoughton, to the late David and Bessie Stillerman. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton and a member of one of the founding families of Temple Beth Emunah. She loved to read, to listen and dance to music and to visit casinos with a close friend. Mimi was predeceased by many lifelong friends, whom she missed. Those friends who remain will miss her warmth, intelligence, good humor and ever-present understanding. She was a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend, whose love will live on in her memory. Mimi was also the beloved wife of the late Russell T. Stone and sister of the late Hyman Stillerman. Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington St., Canton, Friday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. Memorial observance will be at the home of Janice and Gary Goldstein, Saturday, beginning at sundown and Sunday 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mimi may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for Research, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
