Paul Ruel Duxbury Paul Ruel, 59, of Duxbury died Saturday, Oct. 27, at the home of his daughter in Santa Rosa, Calif., after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Brockton on Sept. 10, 1948, a son of Hazel (Weeden) Ruel of Pembroke and the late Edwin Ruel. He was raised and educated in Pembroke and Hanson and had lived in Duxbury for the past 16 years. He was the prominent owner of Charlie's Two restaurant in Pembroke. He enjoyed playing the guitar, poker, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Hazel (Weeden) Ruel of Pembroke; one daughter, Reesha Ruel of Santa Rosa, Calif.; five brothers, Tommy Ruel of Pembroke, Robert Ruel of Whitman, Peter Ruel of Halifax, Kevin Ruel of Kona, Hawaii, and Tim Ruel of Hanson; two sisters, Debbie Ruel-Heath of Hanson and Janine Ruel of Pembroke; and two grandchildren, Bella Abrego and Joey Abrego, both of Santa Rosa, Calif. He was the longtime companion of the late Sharon-Lee Griffith, who died on Sept. 22, 2007. The funeral service will be on Monday at 12 p.m. in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte. 14 and 58, Hanson. Interment will be at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Pembroke. Visiting hours will be on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
