Paul Sheedy Obituary

Paul J. Sheedy, 83, of West Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Brockton. Paul was an active member of St. Anns Parish in West Bridgewater. Paul was lector, CCD teacher and participant and leader of efforts in support of the Pro-Life committee. Paul shared his love of boating, fishing, golfing, coaching, cooking and gardening with his family. Paul enjoyed traveling and exploring New Englands and Americas rich history. Much of Pauls focus was on family, attending his children and grandchildrens sporting events and gathering and celebrating family at his home as often as possible. Paul was born August 8, 1933, in Medford, to William Sheedy of Kilmallock, Ireland, and Mary Sheedy of Boston. He graduated from Malden Catholic High School, and then enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany. Paul then attended Boston College, and after graduation attended the Boston College school of Social Work and achieved a master's degree in Social Work. Paul worked and retired as a clinical social worker at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Brockton. Paul was one of six children and was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Matthew, William and John. Paul is survived by his brother, Frank Sheedy and his wife Ingrid; his sister, Mary Pynn, and by Barbara Sheedy, wife of Pauls late brother John. Paul is survived by his loving wife and best friend Joan; Paul and Joan were married for 56 wonderful years of marriage. Paul is also survived by his daughter, Janet Aurre and her children Christine, Paul and Joseph; his son Christopher Sheedy and his wife Francine and their children Kristin, Jonathan, Francesca and Emma; his son Paul Sheedy and his wife Mary and their children Catherine and Elizabeth; and his son Gregory Sheedy and his wife Anne Marie and their children Brendan, Mary, Thomas, and James. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St. (Rte. 28), West Bridgewater, Monday, October 31, at 9 a.m. thence to St. Anns Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. I know his sister Mary I grew up with her kids in Medford I met him 25 years ago at his mother's wake I like him right away when I first Met him he was a very nice man he is now resting in peace may God be with his family and friends

This is what I know about Mr. Sheedy he was a great husband, father, and grandfather. On 1st meeting Mr.Sheedy he made you feel at ease. Sometimes when you meet a couple you are like "what" but when meeting Mr. & Mrs. Sheedy you were like. Yes this makes sense, two kind people married each other and nurtured 4 great young people who continued that great example of, Be a great husband, (wife) father/mother, example in society. It was a pleasure to have known him and feel blessed to have come across a generous spirit.
