Peter Knox

Raynham Peter Knox, 65, of Troy, Maine, and Raynham, formerly of Whitman, died Thursday, June 19, in Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of Gloria (Benner) Knox of Whitman. Peter was born in Tiverton, R.I., and grew up and attended schools in Dighton. He was a son of the late Walter and Jean (McKay) Knox. He worked as a truck mechanic for Boston Delivery Company and also owned and worked on the Oakdale Farm in Whitman. He was an avid gun collector, enjoyed and owned power boats, was a very active member of the Taunton Yacht Club and had his captains license and was a former scuba diver and surfer. Peter owned a home in Troy, Maine, where he enjoyed nature and the animals. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Benner) Knox of Whitman; his son, Jason P. Knox of Whitman; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Rick Kruzel of Brockton; his brother, Lawrence Knox of Raynham; many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Judith Orell and Patricia Cardoza. His services will be held Tuesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman. Burial will be at a later date.
