Philip Bouldry Obituary

Philip A. Bouldry, age 80, of East Bridgewater, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of Jean (O'Hearn) Bouldry for 56 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, stationed aboard the U.S.S Valley Forge, the U.S.S. Palau, and the U.S.S Coral Sea. Philip was a member of the Satucket Lodge, and an honorary lifetime member of the East Bridgewater Commercial Club. He worked at Mosher Moccasin in Abington, where he was chosen to hand sew shoes for President John F. Kennedy, and for Wilt Chamberlain. He also hand sewed shoes at Commonwealth Shoe in Whitman. At Stetson Shoe in Weymouth he worked his way up to become foreman over 70 people in their stitching room. With the decline of the local shoe industry he entered the building construction profession, starting his own drywall business. He participated in building many homes in East Bridgewater and surrounding towns, as well as a number of homes on the Cape and Martha's Vineyard. After retiring from the drywall business, he went to work at the Pembroke Country Club, where he remained for over twenty years until retiring from the workforce. Philip was born in East Bridgewater, where he resided his entire life. He was the son of the late Lawrence Bouldry, and Lena (Woodbury) Bouldry. He was predeceased by five sisters and seven brothers. He is survived by his wife Jean, and their children Philip Jr. of East Bridgewater, Terri McCole and husband William of West Bridgewater, Wendy Bouldry of Key West Florida, Tracey Olson and husband Robert of Cape Coral Florida, and Lisa Avery of East Bridgwater. He is also survived by sisters Ruth (Bouldry) Hall of Halifax MA, and Alice (Bouldry) Souza of Fairhaven MA., by grandchildren Drew Errington of Sharon, Amy Errington of Rockland, Seth Bouldry of Brockton, Jessica Olson of Lehigh Acres FL., and Lauren, Amanda, Meagan, and Emiley McCole of West Bridgewater. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Cadence, Jaxon, and Madelyn Errington of Brockton, and Jay, James, and Jacey of Lehigh Acres. Philip enjoyed dancing, bowling, gardening, Casino trips, classic Country/Western music, and spending time with his family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a genuine lover of life, enjoyed making people laugh, and always had a smile to share with others. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
