Robert A. Carter

Robert A. Bob Carter, 68, of Taunton, formerly of Middleboro and Needham, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the longtime companion of Janet Chandler of Delaware. Born in Revere on August 3, 1944, a son of Joseph and Irene (McCormack) Tomaino, A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force. Employed as an Electronic Engineer for Liebert Corporation for 20 years he was a member of the American Legion, Rotary and the Elks. In addition to his companion, Robert is survived by two adult children, Greg Carter and his wife Sandra of Taunton and Michele Carter of Plattsburgh, NY; his siblings, Eileen of TX., Rosemary Heppler of Easton, Joseph Tomaino Jr. of Essex Junction, VT., David Tomaino of West Chester, Pa., and Virginia Laird of Easton; seven grandchildren, Stephanie and Ryan Carter, Alex, Jessica and Francis Sauve, and Briana and Gregory Gonsalves; many nieces and nephews and his dog and faithful companion Butter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138), Easton followed a funeral service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
