Theodore Putur Obituary

Theodore M. Putur Jr. WHITMAN Theodore M. Ted Putur Jr., 54, of Whitman, died unexpectedly at his home, Thursday, May 14. He was the husband of Elisabeth B. (Bothen) Putur and father of Elsa, Helena and Annika Putur. Ted was born in Ipswich and was a son of Helen (Laterowicz) Putur and the late Theodore M. Putur. He was raised in Ipswich, a graduate of Ipswich High School, Class of 1972. He also graduated from Bentley College in 1976 with a B.A. degree in accounting. He spent his career in the surety bond industry, first as a company underwriter and then as an agent. He was a resident of Whitman for the past 20 years. He was an active member of the All Saints Episcopal Church, where he was involved in various capacities, including Sunday school teacher, treasurer, vestry, Alpha and Cursillo. Ted enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. He was an avid sports enthusiast. In addition to his wife, children and mother, Ted is survived by his sisters, Marianne Putur and Patricia Rice Putur; several brother and sister in laws; nieces and nephews, David and Jeffrey Putur, Andrea Morrison, Benjamin Rice, Robert and Joseph Cuthbertson, Birgitta, Kerstin and Ingrid Wolfe, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also the brother of the late David T. Putur and Dianna Leavitt. His memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. in the All Saints Episcopal Church, 44 Park Ave., Whitman. A collation will follow directly after the service in the parish hall. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19, in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scholarship Fund for Elsa, Helena and Annika Putur, c/o Mutual Bank, 570 Washington St., Whitman, MA 02382. Dear Putner Family
My deepest sympathy to you and your family.Iworked with Ted at Catalano Insurance in Newbuyrport for several years. He was a great guy we shared many fun times. He was always bragging about his beautifull wife and wondefull girls. I was schocked to see his death notice. I will remember Ted fondly as a great coworker. He is truly be missed..
