To the Burke family, I was saddened to hear of Walter's passing, he was a great person and it was a pleasure that I was able to know and learn from him in the Jaycees, he gave a lot of us advice and counsel, he will be surely missed.

To the Burke Family, I am sorry to hear of Walter's passing. He was a great person, I learned many lessons from Walter. I had the opportunity to meet him in the Jaycee family, Walter always gave of his time and energy, but what I remeber the most is his great smile and spirit. I am so sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I have been fortunate to know Walter in both the Jaycees and the Senate. What I always enjoyed about Walter was his spirit, enthusiasm, wisdom, humor, and most of all his friendship. He will be greatly missed but will always remain in our hearts.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Walter. We met many years ago through the Jaycees and often remember when Joe and Walter and the kids spent the day at Nantasket Beach putting Cape Cod sand into baggies for the next National Jaycee Convention. We will have you and your family in our prayers.

I have often thought of you since the day I met Walter right before Christmas. I hope I honored Walter's wishes as well as your own. What a will he had to live!!! I could see it in his eyes. My prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. You are in my prayers. From experience, the ache will get better but he is without pain and still with you always.

I had the pleasure of knowing Walter for my four years at Wheelock College. I had him numerous times as a professor for my science courses. I will always remember him for his great stories, especially about his cat Tiga. He will be greatly missed! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Donna and your and Walter's lovely children,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. Walter was such a shing light for me at Wheelock. He inspired me as he made me laugh and grow. We shared so much time discussing issues--and I will always remember his caring concern for me in my first tentative teaching moments at Wheelock. When he visited my class, he joined in and shared his enthusiasm and wit with the students and me.
I will miss him, as I know you will.
I am so very grateful that he was a part of my life--and will always remain so.

I had the pleasure of having Walter not only for a teacher but as my student adviser so many moons ago. He was a wonderful man with the most caring heart. He was passionate about his work and really cared for us as his students. It was always a good day to wake up even at 8am for a morning class with coffee and a fun discussion with Walter. Even when you didn't want to wake up so early. I not only had the pleasure of having Walter as my teacher, but getting to know his son Kevin in one of my classes at Wheelock too.
He will be sadly missed and my heart will never be the same without me knowing that he is still making others smile at Wheelock. Many prayers and thoughts go out to the entire family.

My thoughts go out to Walter's family and friends. He was an incredible guy, I had him as a professor at Wheelock College. He put a smile on everyone's face and was a great teacher. You could tell he loved what he did. I still have my copy of the science book he wrote :) he will be missed greatly.

Mr. Burke was an amazing professor, teacher, and friend. I thank him for the guidance he gave me as a "suffering" math student! Bumping into him in front of the Riverway building was always a pleasure! His humor and wit always brought a smile! The Wheelock Community has suffered a great loss. Thank you, Walter, for your passion and commitment to us all!
