Warren Wood Obituary

Warren J. Wood of Chatham, passed away on March 2, 2017, at the Life Care Rehab Center in Attleboro. Warren was born in Roxbury, to Warren and Caroline Wood, June 13, 1935. He was married to Edeltraud "Trudy" Wood in Schweinfurt, Germany, June 29, 1956, until her passing in 2015. He met Trudy in Germany while a Sargent of the 10th Infantry Division of which he was honorably discharged. After a few years in West Roxbury, they settled for 15 years in Brockton and then for 25 years they lived in Easton. He was in his family's estimation a hard worker with 40 years in the plastic injection molding industry. He started his first decade as a trainee foreman on the second shift of Brook Molding in Norwood. Then moved to Phillips Manufacturing in Canton for the next 30 years of which he initially was a plant manager and closed his career as an ever modest Executive Vice-President. He and Trudy enjoyed making their parties a truly memorable event with their flare for humor and fun. They were up for anything. It could be doing from a pre-rehearsed bit with Trudy to Warren telling joke after joke. And many of these visits were accompanied by his favorite libation the vodka martini. In 1982 Warren and Trudy purchased a second home in Chatham where they moved to full time after his retirement in 1997. After his "retirement", he soon went back work for Patriot Builders doing odd jobs and enjoying the comradery with "the guys". Warren was predeceased by his loving wife, Trudy, and his highly decorated head coach of high school football, Tony Wood. He is survived by his son, Ronald Wood and his wife Lisa (Spinney) Wood; daughter-in-law, Denise (Saba) Wood; grandchildren, Peter Wood, Julie Wood and Lauren Wood. Warren and Trudy's memorial visitation will be held March 9, from 5-8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
