Audrey Kondrat Obituary

Audrey M. (George) Kondrat, of Cotuit, formerly of Framingham, died on Jan. 23, 2011 in Harbor House in Hingham, MA. Wife of the late Edward M. Kondrat who died in 2009. Mother of Dr. Richard M. Kondrat of Cohasset, MA; grandmother of Lisa, Chris, Jamie, and Laura; great-grandmother of Bridget, Payton, Ian, Christian, Maddie, and Ali. Audrey graduated from Clevedon College in Swansea, South Wales, Great Britian in 1942, was a volunteer for the Civil Defense during World War II, arrived in the U.S. in January 1947. She married Edward on February 12,1947 in Erie, PA. where she was secretary and treasurer of the British Isles Club, Erie, PA for seven years. They moved to Framingham, MA in 1957 and retired to Cape Cod in 1983. A funeral service will be held in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., (Rte. 28) Marstons Mills, MA on Monday Jan. 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. A visiting hour will be from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. prior to service. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Memorials in her memory may be made to Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA or the MSPCA-Angell, 1577 Falmouth Rd., Centerville, MA 02632.

Rick, Please accept my sympathy on the passing of your mother. It may be an old man's memory playing tricks, but I seem to recall an occasion when the News misspelled your name in a baseball article.. The next day there was a correction. That's what moms do. I hope all else is well with you. Please remember me to Cheryl.
