Catherine Bloomer Obituary

Catherine T. (Slyne) Bloomer, of Quincy, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at age 87. Born in Boston where she was raised and educated, she lived most of her life in Quincy and had worked as a keypunch operator for A & P Supermarkets. The beloved wife of the late Quentin E. Bloomer, Catherine was the loving mother William E. Bloomer and his wife Roberta of Quincy, Mary A. Shields and her husband Peter of Natick, Barbara E. Delia and her husband Anthony of Fairfield, CT and Robert F. Bloomer and his wife Anne of Hanover, was the sister of the late Mary Raney and Helen Conlon and is also survived by 16 grandchildren. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 9 a.m. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth Landing. Family and friends are invited. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine's memory may be made to St. Boniface Haiti Foundation, 400 No. Main St., Randolph, MA 02368. Dear Bloomer Family

On behalf of New Bridge on the Charles I want to express our deepest condolences to all of you. Theresa was absolutely a gift to us and we are so thankful to have had the priveledge of caring for and about her . So many staff related to her kindness and reassuring ways. She was clearly a wonderful woman. Thank you for sharing her with all of us and her housemates. She will be missed. May, thank you especially for all your support and for being such a wonderful daughter. Like you, I too was so happy to reconnect our professional path of nursing. God Bless you all at this time of such loss, May she be wrapped lovingly in the arms of the Lord.
