My old neighbor, Charlie Amorelli was one very good man ! He knew the baseball players by their numbers and he knew their averages. He had a wonderful marriage to his one and only sweetheart, Irene..I remember they'd go to work at Raytheon together each day and they'd go dancing too, at Lantana in Randolph. Charlie and Irene made a very nice looking couple. Each one always looked so nice and neat. You could see they were in love when Irene would look up to Charlie smiling a very pretty smile in adoration.
I will always remember Charlie and Irene and I know, in my heart that they are together again , dancing above the stars, so beautiful, together and still so in love.
There were times when my dad was on strike or for some reason down and out, Charlie and Irene always took our family under their wing and brought us food and kindness. The world would be a lot better off if there were more people like the two of them. One of Irene's sayings was, "God Love You'.
To Charlie and Irene I say, God Love You both, you did well.
