Charles Anderson Obituary

Charles L. "Charlie" Anderson, of Norwell, passed gently in his sleep on June 6, 2018, at 83 years of age. Charlie was born in Belfast, Maine on September 18, 1934, and at the age of 12, after his mother's death came to live with his brother James Anderson at the Webster Estate in Marshfield. Charlie graduated from Marshfield High School where his athletic prowess led him to being inducted to the Marshfield Hall of Fame. After high school Charlie earned his degree from Boston University and became a Physical Education teacher in Duxbury, where he served for 26 years. After retiring from Duxbury Schools, he taught swimming at his home in Norwell at the Anderson Pool for many years. He also helped his wife Marie at her antique shop, Stonehouse Antiques in Norwell, where he specialized in buying and selling Oriental rugs. When not teaching or dealing with rugs Charlie loved to fish, especially in Maine, and locally. His affability and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Charlie is survived by Marie, his loving wife of 45 years, his daughter Sonja of Texas, his son Eric of Pembroke, his sister Phyllis Bridges of Florida and stepson Robert Woodill of Norwell, as well as six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, internment will be private. For those who wish to honor Charlie's memory donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

He was a "Supa" Dad! Spending time fishing and camping with my dad...priceless! Sharing his last breath of life just as the song Amazing Grace came on the radio, even more priceless!!
