Daniel J. Keefe

Daniel Joseph Keefe, of West Street, Foxboro for the past 18 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort of his loving family Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He was born August 28, 1943, in Quincy, and was raised in the Quincy and Weymouth area. Daniel worked at Boston Childrens Hospital as their Research Facilities Coordinator and retired November 9, 2012, after 43 years of service. He was honored with an Employee of the Year Award for his dedication and outstanding service and thoroughly enjoyed working with all of his colleagues at Childrens. Danny and Connie met October 19, 1996, and were married October 26, 2002. He enjoyed spending time with family, camping down at the Cape Cod Canal, golfing with friends, working in their yard and playing a friendly game of cards with their loved ones. Danny was a lifetime member of the Weymouth Elks. He was the beloved husband of Connie (Richard) Keefe; and son of the late Thomas and Helen (Schlager) Keefe of Braintree; former husband of Diane (Files) Keefe of Weymouth. He was the beloved father of Daniel Keefe Jr. of Norton, David Keefe and his wife Starr of Quincy, Debra Keefe (deceased) of Weymouth, Darlene Keefe of Holbrook and Michael Fitzgerald of Norton, Jennifer Hunt of Weymouth, Dan and Dawn Warner of Foxboro and John and Susan Bolton of West Nyack, N.Y. Daniel was brother of Helen Coveney (deceased) of Reading, Thomas Keefe and his wife Alice of Hanson, Shirley Quirk and her husband Joseph of Marston Mills, Jean and Francis (deceased) Beaudry of Pembroke, Dennis Chuck Keefe and his wife Elaine of Rockland, Donald Keefe (deceased) of Weymouth and Edward Keefe (deceased) of Quincy. He was the loving son-in-law of Dorothy Richard and the late William Richard of Wrentham; brother-in-law of William and Paula Richard of Mansfield, James and Joan Richard of Wrentham, Dorothy and William Cooke of Foxboro, Janet and David Nickerson of Foxboro, Mary and Richard McCormack of Norton and Gail and Jeffry Vendetti of Franklin. He was the grandfather of Amanda Fitzgerald of N. Attleboro, Jessica, Michael, Daniel and Melanie Fitzgerald of Norton, Krystal Keefe and Aaron Keefe of Georgia, Makayla Hunt of Weymouth, Gregory, Danielle and Kiersten Warner of Foxboro and Kelly and Campbell Bolton of West Nyack, N.Y.; great-grandfather of Brayden MacDougal of North Attleboro and Desmond Keefe of Georgia. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours Sunday, October 26, 2014, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, in Foxborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Church, 58 Carpenter Street, in Foxborough.
