Estelle Green Obituary

Estelle Norma (Lindsey) Green, 87 years of age, entered Life Eternal at the home of her daughter in Weymouth on Monday, October 17, 2016. Estelle was born in Hingham to the late Herbert and Mabel Lindsey (Tuttle). She was a graduate of Hingham High School and the Victory Bible Center in Winchester. Estelle had been actively involved in various ministries as she loved people. She served as a short Term Missionary to Africa. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hingham but also had involvement in International Family Church, N. Reading, and Living Word World Outreach Church in Brockton, MA. She enjoyed working with teens and had been involved with Teen Encounters for Christ. Additionally, she was a member of the former South Shore Citizens Club. Estelle was always happiest with friends and family around. She was a retired clerk for the Commonwealth of Mass. Dept. of Public Welfare in Quincy. She had also worked at Gilchrists Dept. Store and The Fore River Shipyard. Estelle was the beloved wife of the late Robert Green. The loving mother of Karen Green of Weymouth, Herbert Green of Gaastra, MI, Juanita Dickinson married to Pastor Michael Dickinson of Big Flats, NY, Brian Green and Linda Green, both of Hingham. She was the loving mother of the late Norma Scottron, who is survived by her husband Karl Scottron now of Rockland, and the late Robert Green Jr; formerly of Hingham. Estelle was the beloved sister Marion Teague of Hingham, the late Anita Mills formerly of Whitman, and the late Pauline Gentry, formerly of Hingham. Estelle was Nana to 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Hingham, MA, 85 Main Street on Saturday November 19th at 10:30am. The Reverend Gary Ludwig will officiate. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. Burial was at High Street Cemetery, Hingham. Memorial donations can be made in Estelles memory to the First Baptist Church, 85 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043, International Family Church 99 Concord St. N. Reading, MA 01864, or Living Word World Outreach Church 1090 W. Chestnut St. Brockton, MA 02301. Submitted by the Peck Funeral Homes of Weymouth and Braintree.
