Frank Shaver Obituary
Frank Howland Shaver, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away peacefully in his Florida home on March 21, 2018, with his loving sister Kim by his side. Frank was born on February 13, 1958, in Dorchester, to parents Frank and Carolyn (Bosworth) Shaver. When he was a teenager, Frank and his family moved to Weymouth where he graduated from Weymouth South High School in 1975. Shortly after graduating, Frank followed in his fathers footsteps and began his 25-year career with Gillette Co. as a mechanic and worked his way up to Group Leader before enjoying an early retirement. In 1989, Frank married the love of his life Brenda Allen and became the step-father to her three wonderful children. The couple moved to Pembroke to raise their family and enjoyed many happy years there until retiring to Port Charlotte, Florida in 2005. Frank was a lover of music, his favorite being rock n roll. Frank and Brenda especially loved Eric Clapton who they saw in concert many times, even traveling on multiple occasions to England to see him perform. The two also loved the Red Sox and Patriots and were always cheering them on and even collecting cards and memorabilia. After moving to Florida, Frank and Brenda enjoyed boating and fishing with their family and playing cards with their friends and neighbors. The couple enjoyed 21 years of marriage before Brendas untimely death in 2010. Frank is survived by his mother, Carolyn Shaver; sister, Karen Thomas and husband Stephen (Weymouth, Mass.); sister, Kim Medeiros and husband Brian (Whitfield, N.H.); sister, (deceased) Diane DeVoy and husband David; half-brother, Joseph Shaver; half-brother, Michael Shaver; step-daughter, Jennifer Nguyen and husband Youngme (Dorchester, Mass.); step-daughter, Julie Mitton and husband Jon (Weymouth); step-son, Christopher Allen and wife Andi (Hanson, Mass.); many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and longtime family friend, Larry Clinton. In the years leading up to Franks death, his biggest passion was riding his Harleys. He would take long rides with his friends in Florida and attend events such as Daytona Bike Week when he could. Frank loved the open road and all the freedom that riding gave him. Frank is back on his Harley with the sun on his face taking that last ride home. Frank will always be loved and will forever be greatly missed by family and friends. Franks family invites you to attend his celebration of life on June 9, 2018 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. at The Weymouth Eagles, 1338 Washington St., Weymouth, MA. The family would love for you to come enjoy a luncheon and share your stories or memories of Frank with them.
