Harry Themistocles Jr.

1946 - 2021

Harry Themistocles Jr, of Hanover, MA, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at age 74. Born on July 25th, 1946 in South Boston, he was the son of the late Harry and Olympia Themistocles. After serving in the United States Army, Harry had a distinguished twenty-five year career with the United States Postal Service based out of Boston. He devoted his personal time to his family, coaching an array of youth sports, traveling to watch his children compete throughout high school and college, and instilling the values of kindness, friendship and hard work in those around him. Harry took great pride in his Albanian heritage, and he loved the beach, fishing, the Beatles, cheering on the local sports teams, and a cold Corona. He was revered, respected and adored, welcoming any and all to his football tailgates, into his home or to be part of his family. Affectionately known as Papa Harry, his children and grandchildren were the light of his life. But above all else, he was a dedicated and loving husband to Roberta for nearly fifty years. Harry is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta (Smith); son Tom and his wife Tara; son Todd and his wife Candice; daughter Ali and her husband Dan; his seven grandchildren: Ava, Rocco, Thomas, Sal, Teddie, Connor and Colbie. He is also survived by his siblings Eleanor, Virginia, Geraldine Puzzangara, Rose, Daniel and was preceded in death by his brothers William and Thomas Themistocles. Visiting hours will be at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte 53, Hanover, on Thursday, June 3rd from 3-7pm. A private service will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home on Friday, June 4th at 10am, followed by a reception to celebrate Harrys life at the Rockland Golf Course, 276 Plain St, Rockland, from 12-4pm - all are welcome.
