To the Mulhern Family, Once upon a time Janet was a little girl. I was her neighborhood friend. We played school in our finished basements, and pretended to be the "Lennon" sisters. I was always so sad when she went to Onset for the summer and it was like having a "rock start" return when she and her family arrived home before school started in September. High School took us separate paths, but I have such wonderful memories in my heart, as do my sisters and Mom. Janet we are going to play again someday.

To the Mulhern, Pearson and Curtin Families;
My sister-in-law Ann sent this to me. I thought you would appreciate it: What Cancer Can Not Do
Cancer is so limited . .
It can not cripple love,
It can not shatter hope,
It can not corrode faith,
It can not destroy peace,
It can not kill friendship,
It can not suppress memories,
It can not silence courage,
It can not invade the soul,
It can not steal eternal life,
It can not conquer the spirit.
You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back, or you can
open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of
the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live
yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone or you can cherish her
memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and
turn you back, or you can do what she would want: Smile, open you eyes,
love and go on.

My heartfelt condolences to Janet's family. I worked at the middle school as secretary in the main office and had many great conversations with Janet about my daughter as she completed her studies at Brockton Hospital School of Nursing where she now works as an RN. Janet was very supportive and offered many helpful suggestions. Her dedication to the students of East Bridgewater was always present. She will be missed. You are all in my prayers.

To Janet's family,
We will truly miss Janet, she was a wonderful teacher and friend. Janet really did a wonderful job with the children in her health classes here at EB Middle School. She demonstrated strength of character and true commitment to our students. Fellow teachers regarded her with respect and cherished her friendship. We all hoped she would recover from her illness and be able to rejoin us. Everyone who knew her spoke of her dignity, kindness and of the quality of her leadership. We will truly miss her. Our love and prayers are with you. Pam K.
