I miss you greatly Papa... There's so many things that as a man I never got to ask you. You took such good care of me. Every weekend as a child. Then I got to spend junior year living with you. I've been told I have your sense of humor.. As my dad does. You are me and I am you. The third version. I hope that makes you as proud as I am. I love you JPV1

Another neighbor from my childhood that has passed this year. I have such wonderful memories of Mr. Viola and growing up with all the Viola kids. Every time I make Italian frosted cookies I think of him and am so grateful Carolyn shared the recipe with me. He always loved to tell me the story of how I first met him....I was about 2-3 years old and he found me wondering on Hobart Street alone when he picked me up always adding that I had a full diaper! RIP Mr. Viola my love and prayers to you and all the family!!

Alfredo's Reunion May 2016

I am heartbroken to hear of Mr. Joe's passing. I've known him since I was 14 years old working at Alfredo's. Mr. Joe was the funniest, sweetest guy I've ever known. We had a little Alfredo's reunion last year and we were so surprised and happy when Mr. Joe arrived. We had a great time. He was surrounded by a lot of love that night! I told him I still make his famous Pasta Fagoli and I think of him every time. I'm sure Mr. Joe is happy reunited with Duda and he'll be keeping the angels laughing. Thinking of the entire Viola family during this difficult time.
