Lorraine Porter

Braintree Lorraine A. (Wilson) Porter, 76 years of age, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was born in Windsor, Vermont and was educated there. She was a Braintree resident since 1950. Mrs. Porter worked as a secretary for the Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston for 34 years. She also had attended nursing school while she had been employed at the John Scott House Nursing Home in Braintree. Mrs. Porter was actively involved in A. A. in Braintree for the past six years. She loved her friends at A. A. and appreciated all the support that she was shown. She was known as the Cookie Lady at her meetings. She was the wife of the late Ernest Carl Porter , who died in 1991. She is survived by her two daughters, Sheri Dunfee, married to Dan Dunfee of Pittsburgh, PA and Lynn Porter, married to Peter Oddie of Brockton. She was the loving Grandmother of Christopher Dunfee, Charles OBrien, K. C. OBrien, Crystal Gryzbowski and Kellie OBrien. At Lorraines request, services will be private.
