Mary Fasciano Obituary

Mary Lou (Lamonte) Fasciano, 87, of Cohasset died at home Sunday, Sept 16, 2018, with her family at her side, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony "Tony" Fasciano of Cohasset. She is survived by her 3 children, Marybeth Fasciano of Quincy, Mark Fasciano and his wife Amy of Marshfield and Gail Fasciano of Cohasset; her sister, Kathleen DeCola of Manchester, N.H. She was the sister of the late Alfred LaMonte of Wrentham; daughter of the late Catherine and Alfred LaMonte of Boston. Mary Lou was born in Pa., and raised in the West End of Boston, where she graduated from St. Josephs High School in 1946. After graduation she worked at John Hancock Insurance in Boston. She raised her family in Scituate and Cohasset. From 1976-1988 she worked at Scituate Ocean Manor (Life Care Center) as a nurse's aide. From 1989 until her retirement she was a private duty caregiver for several residents in Cohasset and Hingham who adored her for the loving care and companionship that she provided. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and working in her yard. The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers, Amy O'Sullivan, Nancy Sawyer and Jacki Keane for the care and compassion they provided. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary Lou on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mary Lou may be made to the Seaside Animal Rescue, PO Box 787, Hull, MA 02045 or Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, 02066. Dear Mark & Amy, MaryBeth and Gail, We are so saddened by your Moms passing. James, Daniel and I have such fond memories of your Mom and her sweet smile. She was a loving, caring, kind woman who will remain in our hearts always. We take comfort knowing she is not only in the arms of our Lord, but those of Uncle Tony's as well.
