Michael Gillespie Obituary

Michael P. Gillespie, age 28, of Quincy, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at home. Michael was born in Boston and raised in Quincy. He graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Class of 2007. Michael received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Suffolk University in Boston. He was very active in Quincy youth sports, playing baseball, hockey, football, and lacrosse. Michael also enjoyed cooking and drawing. He treasured spending time with his family and girlfriend, especially in Falmouth and Provincetown. Beloved son of Steven M. and Elizabeth (Quinn) Gillespie of Quincy. Devoted brother of Mary E. Meg Gillespie and Mark S. Gillespie, both of Quincy. Michael is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Danielle Lisbon of Quincy. Dear grandson of John T. Jack Quinn of Quincy and the late Eleanor M. (OGrady) Quinn and the late Francis E. and Marie T. (McDermott) Gillespie. Nephew of John J. Quinn and his wife MaryAnn of Hingham, Mary A. Sullivan and her husband Michael of Hingham, Margaret M. Crump and her husband Paul of Quincy, John F. Gillespie and his wife Deborah of Canton, and M. Elena Mitcheroney and her husband Paul of Canton. He was also survived by many cousins and friends. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, February 5, at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 11 oclock. The Reverend Peter F. Quinn, Michaels great-uncle, will celebrate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday 12 | 4 p.m. Interment Saint Marys Cemetery, West Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michaels memory may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 3803 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.
