Phillip Hanly Obituary

Sagamore Phillip Murray Hanly, 47, of Sagamore, died suddenly on August 4, 2008. Born in Quincy, he was the son of Beverly Murray Hanly of Braintree and the late Albert Graham Hanly. He was a 1979 graduate of Braintree High School and attended Northeastern University. He was a mens gymnastics coach at Corrigans Gym in Rockland and was a volunteer for Massachusetts Special Olympics. He was the assistant Director of Security at Copley and joined the Bourne Police Department in 2000 and was Officer of the Year in 2007. He is survived by his wife Tammy Bonenberger Hanly who he married on September 27, 1997. Also surviving are two sons: William Albert Hanly and Christopher Stephen Hanly, two brothers: Stephen (Julie) Hanly of Kingston, Christopher Hanly of Abington, two sisters: Beverly J. Hanly of Braintree and Alison B. Hanly of Braintree, one nephew Casey, two nieces Jessica and Taryn and a great niece Addison. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Margarets Catholic Church, Main St., Buzzards Bay. Private Burial.
