Robert King Obituary

BRAINTREE Robert J. King, 85, of Braintree, died July 13, 2009. Beloved husband of Barbara (Blood) to whom he was married for 62 years. Loving father of Robert J. King, Jr. and his wife Janice of Kingston, Dana King and his wife Carol of Plymouth and Pam Palumbo and her husband Joseph of Braintree. Dear grandfather of Beth, Cynthia, Meg, Lauren, Greg, and Alex. Great-grandfather of Chuck, Bobby and Lylah. Bob was born in Braintree and has been a lifelong resident of the Town. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving on the U.S.S. LST 276 in the Pacific Theater. After the war he worked for United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Boston as a sales manager for 42 years retiring in 1985. He and his family enjoyed many summers at their home in Humarock where he was the President of the South Humarock Civic Assoc. Funeral from the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rt. 37) Braintree, Friday, July 17 at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Clare, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree Highlands at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit Funeral Home, Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. Interment VA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers the family sincerely requests donations in his name may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
