As another of daughter of Uncle Robert's brother, Bill Geller, I spent a lot of time with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob in Scituate. I remember both of them showering me with gifts when I would visit. I have a particularly strong memory of a dark purple poncho that was a gift one visit. I also remember their big wicker swing that hung from that enormous tree on their side yard. Both of them always made me feel so special and I have extremely fond memories of my young life with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob.

My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you at this time of deep sorrow. I have known Ruth since 1995 when I became the human rights coordinator for DMR-SRS. Ruth was a stong advocate for people with disabilities and she was a very caring and compassionate person. I think I can speak for all of the committee members when I say we will miss her at our meetings. (Especially seeing her come in with all of those different hats!)

While my wife Betty and I will be at Ruth's wake and funeral, I'll add a favorite memory of Ruth here. Ruth moved from Scituate at the same time we moved to our first Braintree house. She had lots of stuff, we didn't, so during a very hot summer we combined forces....yard sales, dump trips, rental trucks...into a LOT of work! The grand finale..our new house completely furnished, mostly with Ruth's stuff, but only temporarily. Many more trips to her Milton apartment followed, as she found room for her furnishings or we acquired our own. Lots of lifting, lots of perspiration, but lots of laughs, too! And, as the eldest son of Bill Geller, Uncle Robert's brother, I enjoyed the assorted Geller Family stories that accompanied those times with Aunt Ruth and am now offering this small addition to family lore. May Aunt Ruth rest in peace.

With fond memories of Ruth. I think of her every Christmas as I hang the beautiful wreath she made for us decades ago. Her love of color was reflected in her purple door at their lovely home in Scituate! My condolences to her family.

My condolences to the family of Ruth Geller. My father, Bill Geller, was Robert Geller's brother. I have very fond memories of going to Scituate as a young girl and staying overnight at Aunt Ruth's and Uncle Robert's house. Whenever I would visit, Aunt Ruth would bring me downstairs to her workshop to create a beautiful basket of plastic flowers. I always enjoyed those times! I also recall how much they loved their little dog, Marie. Although I am not able to express my sympathies to you in person, please know that Aunt Ruth will be in my thoughts this weekend.
