Sara E. Tucker

1972 - 2016

Sara E. Tucker, 43, died unexpectedly in Oakland, California, on January 14, 2016. Born in Boston, February 28, 1972, she was the beloved daughter of James and Mary Tucker of Hanson; Mass., sister of Andrew Tucker and his wife Corinne of San Francisco and Amy (Tucker) Avery and her husband Matthew of Hanson; terrific Auntie to Matthew, Malia, Ella and Genevieve. She is also survived by numerous close friends in the San Francisco area. Sara was a graduate of Whitman Hanson Regional High School, Class of 1990, and earned a B.S. in Psychology from Bridgewater State College in 1995. In 2014, she received her Nurse Practitioner degree from UC Berkley. Sara lived in California for the past seventeen years, where she studied, worked and enjoyed spending time with friends. Sara was blessed with a warm and welcoming personality, an Irish wit, and an infectious laugh that would brighten up the day for all around her. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, music, cooking, movies, making jewelry, sewing, knitting, dinners with friends, and taking her dog to parks. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., corner Rte. 14 and 58, Hanson, Friday, January 22, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 580 Monponsett St., Halifax, Saturday at 9 a.m. Burial to follow at St. James Cemetery on Harvard St., in Whitman.
