Walter Berry Obituary

Hanover Walter N. Berry, 88, of Hanover, died suddenly at his home on August 27, 2008. He was born in Boston, son of the late Irving and Mary (Newell) Berry and was raised and educated in Quincy. Mr. Berry was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Walter had previously been employed with the New York-New Haven Railroad and for 20 years prior to his retirement he was an electrician for Delta Air Lines in Boston. He has made his home in Hanover for the past 43 years. Husband of the late Mildred F. (Walsh) Berry, he is survived by his children, Walter C. Berry and his wife Nancy of Abington and Robert A. Berry and his wife Jessie of Rockland. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A Funeral will be held at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, ROCKLAND on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Stacey Lanier of the Church Hill United Methodist Church in Norwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Hanover Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Mass. Association for the Blind, 200 Ivy St., Brookline, MA 02446. If the definitions in the dictionary were pictures, under the word "Gentleman" would be a picture of Uncle Wally. Very fond & happy memories of both Uncle Wally & Aunty Lil.
