SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Doris Jean Hill Cothran, 86, of Boiling Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. She was the widow of Carlos Cothran.
Mrs. Cothran was a native of Spartanburg and a daughter of the late Ben and Merita Bradley Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of Valley Falls First Baptist Church and had been active in the senior group as well as the Willing Workers Sunday School class.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis (Jeffery) Porter, Carla Owings, Melissa (John) Norman, and Mindy (Robby) McCullough; grandchildren: Christy (Jerry) Lockhart, Joe (Danielle) Owings, Jake Owings, Drake, Ben, Caroline Norman, Carly McCullough, and Matthew (Kayla) Schoolcraft; great grandchildren: Autumn Lockhart and Owen Schoolcraft; sisters: Evelyn (Jim) Williams and Gladys Mullinax, sister-in-law: Catherine Hill and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Wade, Lee, and Ben, Jr. Hill along with a sister: Margaret Morris.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Valley Falls First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Glenn Rusher. Interment will be private. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at their respective homes.
